My first TATTOO!

180808, I got my first tattoo! It has been fulfilled, my long-time wish of having a tattoo! And I got it at Sheffield, England! Few years back when I asked my parents about me having a tattoo, they gave me a shocking answer, "sleep outside if u do it!" Wow….my wish to have a tattoo vanished, forever……but after I came to Sheffield, I draw my wish to my mum again (on an email, haha). She said no, but in the following emails, I keep pleading her and told her that I longed for a tattoo for a long time. Definitely not dragon or tiger tattoo. So, at the end, she agreed but my dad didn’t. I guess he just LET me to have it, but dislike it. Anyway, I can see both of my parents started to treat me as a full adult. Especially my mum, she had even tried to search for a nice design for me. I am so proud and happy. They know what I am doing and what am I thinking. I am so happy as if getting a sliver from Olympic, like our proud DATUK Lee Chong Wei. He has been granted the title of Datuk.

After and before!

The Design! I and my mum are both "quite" superstitious. Haha. So, we don't agree with any design which might affect the luck. I.e; although dragon is a symbol of wealth and success, but not everyone can hold the power of a dragon, or a tiger symbolize protection, but he might "eat" the bearer too. Tribal or Polynesian tattoo are very nice, but sometimes look like black metal type. Haha. That’s why a Mystic Knot has been chosen to be with me for the rest of my life. It's a symbol of longevity, never-ending and good luck. Besides, I like the symbol so much. It signifies my personalities too, which is secretive and possess a brain complex useless thinking, just like the "messy" knot. Haha.

This is what my gf got. LOLZ. Just joking. I got it by searching google. I was about to get exactly this one, but a circular edge is better as advised from my mum.

The Process! It's a painful process, but not unbearable. It's like a blunt (no mistake, its BLUNT) knife, dragging all the way in the skin. Blunt enough to pierce through the skin. It didn't bleed as much as I thought. 35 minutes later, all done, including sticking the tattoo pictures on my upper back. Its £60 per hour, so I paid only £35 which is around RM230.

That's it, nervous-est time in my life.

Before the tattooing, I was so nervous. The most nervous time in my life ever! Once I got into the tattoo parlour, I dropped my peanut. After the tattooist, Woody, starts the machine, my 2nd peanut dropped. Luckily his calm and friendly attitude made me feel easy and relax. And the process began, TEHHEEEHHHEEKKKK! (the sound of the machine).

The sketching! He sticked a paper with the drawing of the tattoo which he has prepared it earlier.

The Date 180808! Why not 080808?! $&"*(%^_&_%!!!!! It's because on the 080808, I went there without making an appointment. So, I booked for 20/08/2008, but not available too. I wonder, is tattoo that popular until fully booked? Everyday at least one client? That’s it, no more 080808. Haha.

The inks, wrappers, tissue and unknown equipments.

Woody with his "cari makan" equipment.

Ouch!??

Look at my expression! That was the time the needle vibrated adjacent the bone!

There is something like lubricant on top of his glove, I guess its for the needle, easier to DRAG along the skin.

The machine and electric cable were well wrapped.

Sakit macam babi?!!

Half way.

Dripping the needle to the ink. That's the lubricant.

TEEHHEEEEHHEEKKK!! The sound keep buzzling in my ears.

Bearing the piercing of the needle.

Tissue paper to wipe off my blood and the ink.

I was sweating all the way through the tattooing.

Thats the result.

It seems like not centered. But it is.

Wrapped with "food wrapper"? lolz.

The head of the machine where the needles come out.

I and woody!

His room!

Paying £35.

What is a Tattoo!

According to my dad, tattoos was practised by those armies long time ago. They wanted their body to be different from others so that one day if they get killed in the battle field, their families could trace the bodies for burying or cremation.

In Malaysia, tattoo is wide spreaded too, mostly thai's and borneo's tattoos. Most of the tattoo bearers are involved in the underground. That's why there is a bad perception towards people who have tattoo. Including me. ^^ Not all of them are "bad" guys, some of them just like to have a tattoo, like me. haha.

People say tattoo is an art. In UK, I can see the true "art". They coloured themselves with tattoo along the arms, shoulder, neck and anywhere. Its really beautiful. and mine are long way to "beautiful". I just wanted to have one. ^^

The needle penetrate through the skin to the dermis layer around 2mm and ink will be released as the needle pierce it. In and out, in and out. Then its forever! Magnificent!

Dwayne Johnson! a.k.a. The Rock has a polynessian tattoo, which possessed alot of meaning. You can find it out here, http://www.tahititatou.com/therock-engl_2.html
