To Whitby Abbey!

It's my first trip to other state of England. It's part of weekend trips organised by senior. It's around 180km from Sheffield. Some part of Dracula novel was written here. With a broken castle (founded 657AD), historic church and graveyard with many headstones of 200 years old, it's completely creepy during the night. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whitby

To Whitby!

I am here! Sheffield!

It's already been one week here in Sheffield. There are many unusual, weird and nice things in UK. Probably, it's only for a frog that has been in the well for 22 years. ^^ I don't know how to talk bout my life here. Too much. Haha.

The weather!
Its quite normal as many of us expected. Average around 18 celcius. Night or raining day can reach 7 celcius and hot day around 25. The people here like to sit under the hot sun, enjoying their drinks and kids playing around. They like hot day. I guess I'll be same as them soon, coz the cold weather here not really for me especially after shower. FREEZING...... The day hours here last for around 16 hours. The Mr.Sun here is too hardworking. Work earlier and does OT. But winter is the other way round. The worst thing with the weather is...I can't dry my clothes which dryer is the only solution. The BEST is...i went to play football, and I didn't even know that I was already sweating! I didn't even feel tired. wahahaha! syok...but there is no futsal or football field. Just an ordinary large grass field without goal post. : (

The Classes, The Lecturers!
I just attend my 1st week of my classes. I still don't know how it will be in the next few weeks, but during the 1st week assignments already piled up for us which seems very complicating. There are only 3 modules. Classes only on Tue, Wed and Thur. Very relaxing? Hehehe. But most of the time shall at Uni for the assignment. The lecturers here are very friendly and keep smiling. But some of them are very strict on time punctuality. So, we have to discard our lewat-lima-minit attitude which has been the trend for us in TARC. ==!

The People!
The people here are very polite, friendly, humble and helpful. They have a culture of saying Thank You and Sorry. Whenever someone offers services or helps, the other surely will reply with a thank you with a smile. So, whenever I unboard the bus, I'll thanks the driver too, to collaborate with their friendly culture or otherwise they may have a bad perception towards Chinese or Malaysians......or....perhaps...they have already? @@ Besides that, citizens here do their job ethically and responsibly. Cashier at every supermarkets and shops serve us with their happy or pleasant looking faces. Even the car washers wash clients' car energetically. That's some of Sheffield good parts. For the bad parts, I don't think I have bumped any during the 1st few days....ya....the food....+_+"

The Transport!
Cheap! Second hand BMW 525i cost only ₤11K (RM70K). Many cheap cars here, Peugeots, Citroens, Audi, Leon, Mg, etc. I saw quite a lot of Lotus elise too, Celica, AudiTT, Mini Cooper and twice I saw Ferrari 355. There are very very less motorbikes. Cycles are seen here quite oftenly, moslty with very nice bike. The cheapest bicycle in Sheffield also cost £70 =.=! Some of the tar road are designed for cyclers, quite similar like our motorcycle lane in Malaysia. There are also tram which is a mutation of bus and train. Haha. It moves along the street with cables hanging above it like our KTM. There is also train station jsut behind my Uni, which travels to other state but it's very costly. Bus would be preferred by stingy people like me. ^^ Forget to mention about the drivers attitude here. They seldom cross the red light even it can be seen obviously the only vehicle there is his. The best part of Sheffield transportation is a free bus service called FreeBee! Anyone can travel by FreeBee to certain places in the city. Its Free! We always go to Uni by FreeBee as we are quite lazy. ^^ A walk to my Uni is around 25 minutes.

The food!
Actually, I am not sure whether how is the local food taste like, because I tak sampai hati to eat a meal of £3-£5! The first day we reached our accomodation, we went out to have our dinner. Ended up in one of the cheapest and nearest kebab shop. The fired chicken is salty, fries are too dry and there is no cup for us for our 1.5litre Coke. =.=! So, the first impression of Sheffield food is bad. Lolz. It cost us £2.50. After the first meal outside, we cook ourselves until today. We shop in many different shops and supermarkets to get the cheapest food or worth by "value vs satisfaction". So our common foods are cornflakes, sardin, pork, beef, chicken, rice, instant noodle, egg, ham and sausages. Did I miss vege? No. Vege is very expensive here. I can eat £0.45 (RM3.00) of taugeh with 2 spoonfuls. So, our best solution is choose the food with lousy brand like our "Tesco" brand or choose raw food with near expired date which cost cheaper. For me, seldom I will choose tasty food, it's expensive and I am afraid that I'll have my budget upside down. Haiz. The conclusion. Food = expensive. Or maybe only for me? Only 3 things I would like to say about the food here. 1) Expensive 2) Expensive 3) Expensive...and Sux?

It's too much to say here for a tiny little frog in a far away city. ^^ Thank you dad and mum who did so much, pay so much and sacrifice so much bringing me up and let me to UK. ^^

I'LL BE FLYING ACROSS THE WORLD TOMORROW

It's been quite a long time since my last post. Am I too busy? or my brain is empty of words? :)For now, I have mixed feelings. Nervous + Happy + Sad + Exited + Curious + Worry + a lot more which i don't know the correct word to describe them. I'LL BE FLYING ACROSS THE WORLD TOMORROW! should i say....yahoooo?!!

My dad has been doing so much to prepare the cost, going from this bank to that bank, buying bank draft and exchanging notes. Where my mum prepares things to bring and also shopping with me for my clothings and food. My friends, will be enjoying the last toast for the next few months with me tonight....lolz....its just months, not years or decades. And also last futsal! ^^ Thank you to all of you! My parents have been trying so hard to help me to UK. I can see they are glad and happy, but there is also worriness creeped inside them, secretly getting stronger and heavier. Don't worry! I will be back! It's just like a period of National Service, probably slightly longer. ^^

Tomorrow 30th May 2008 12.55a.m.......will be the first time for me, so far away from my home. Hahaha....Sometimes.....My brain works "disobediently" again, make me think of the person who I should share this joy together. The person who I had wished to hug before i left. Now, it just isn't as perfect as i had thought. - A jigsaw puzzle that lost one of its pieces is not perfect anymore.

Sometimes most of my friends asked me a similiar question. "would you stay together with her if she wanted to, now?" I always ask myself. Is it possible? How if it comes true? I think I'll choose YES. But, why? I dont have the answer too and afraid i'll regret to say YES......Hahaha. My blardy friend always shoot me with this kind of question.....beware, u may be the next victim....beware......and beware......hahaha. Cakap saje. Good luck to all of you all babi.

My flight to Manchester. 30/05/08 time 0055

My luggage. My popiah clothings, which has been taught by her.

A must? One of the most important things after passport and air ticket. ^^

The Return of BATABOY!

It’s been over 2 weeks I worked at the well-known BATA, which was founded in 1894! Let me crap a bit about my working days at Bata. Bata is well known for its under-paid salary compare to other easy job, such as Pdi, Voir, Osim, Padini, bla bla bla…..I already calculate my total income of one month, its just around 900-1100. That’s for 12 hours per day and 6days/week ! World Taekwando Federation!

Working hours : 10.30am-10.30pm, 1hour each for lunch and dinner. But we seldom use that much time. Come back earlier, and sell more, and get a little more commission.
Morning : Wipe all the racks and bottom of shoes.
Night time : Sweep, mop, buang sampah.

Working period : Serve customers with a fake smile. Watch customer choose their foot attires and wait their order to get other size. Normally, 40% of the customers are dissatisfied because of well known Bata tradition, ‘No more size’. So, ask customer to choose others. Again, we will reply with ‘Out of stock’ or ‘Tarak saiz’ or ‘Sudah abis’. Once, I got a customer who chose 5 different model of shoe, again and again, all of the size wanted already out of stock. World Taekwando Federation! They blah with 101% dissatisfaction. Aku pun malu jugak.

The shoe store : The highest placed shoe is 5m above floor level. How to get the shoe? A long ladder, good body acrobatic, (kungfu is encouraged especially Heng Gong). The width of the route in the store, 80cm. Tuapuikia is not encouraged work in Bata. Booby girls with 36d are also forbidden to enter the store (shoes and racks may get damaged by your body!). Some of the shoes need to be reached by crawling under piping, route dimension of 80cm x 90cm! (I got a knock on my head against the pipe on the first day of my job!). Guys who don’t like to exercise can come Bata, rusted body to re-con body. Free gym. Y-fitness? California? Lose to Bata Store. Tak caya? Mari lah!

Why must choose Bata?
1) Gaji seBANYAK RM1000!
2) Free gym – Walk, Catwalk, Crabwalk, Moonwalk!, DuckCrawl, Evading, Climb, Jump and sometimes during peak period also learn Fall and Accident.
3) Memory training – recognize where all those ‘handsome’ looking shoe located inside the store.
4) Free view of lots of modernized-sexed human next shop – Really! Many! Horny? Unknown.
5) Free ‘jokes of the day’ – will be told later.
6) ‘Syok’music – Bata control the music in the shop, which is so ‘Harmonized’. We can sleep on the spot. Bottom 100 all here.
7) Staff price – 100%……….undeducted.

Jokes experienced by me.

Joke 1
Customer : Kenapa sekarang Bata punya kualiti banyak teruk?
Me : …..
Customer : Tengok jahitan dia, tak kemas langsung (pointing).
Me : …..mana ada, dah kira kemas ma. (its really quite nice and tidy, just a lil bit of misalignment).
Customer : Saya mau complen kat Bata, quality memang teruk, tapi apa boleh buat. Product dia memang macam ini.
Me : ………… (thinking….wtf! macam dia pemilik Bata!Pergi complen la!)
Customer : ok la, size 8.
Me : ……….(wtf! Cakap teruk lagi mau beli!! Nasib baik aku tak makan bakuteh hari ini, kalau tak, u sudah rasa bau dia!)
Then I go check at other brand shoe which cost 200+
….same la the sewing! Mana boleh perfect!

Joke 2
After I took the size required by the customer, he tried it and walk here and there testing….then unworn it…
Customer : Ok, give me size 7 (means he wanna buy it). But let me have a look at others first….
Me : Ok, Sure.
Customer : (walk again to the racks, looking for others…..suddenly, turned his body and walked out of Bata)
Me : *(&$”&%!$(*!!!!!!!!!!!!!!$&*”^$%”£)!!!!!!!!!!!!) err……..mati pucuk)
He never come back……….and I’ll eat durian and kiss u nextime I see you.

Joke 3
Customer : Can I try size 8 please?
Me : Ok, sure…..
So, I go travel to the exhilarating store…. climb up, moon walking, shuffle, breakdance and finally got the shoe to the customer.
Customer : Eh. Why size 8 is larger than size 9?
Me : (har! so surprised! And have a look..) Err……the previous shoe u have tried is size 6 not 9. So, u should ask for size 5…..(with a fake smile, I go climb up, moon walking, shuffle, breakdance again.)

That’s some of the jokes joked on me during this 2 weeks. I hope I wont get high blood pressure or heart attack. Luckily I will stop this job 1 month later, because tanjung rambutan already sent me an unconditional offer letter.

That’s all for tonight. I shall post more about my job at Bata in the incoming weeks. Probably took some pictures to post it here.

BATA cogan kata ; ONE BATA, ONE WORLD. ^.^

The New Begenning? and Perak Trip!

Finally! I can online! I shall go back to the world of Internet! Without this net, I barely can survive. The grim reaper nearly took me away. Luckily this net came back to me. ^^
It has been an exiting and wonderful time during the past few months.

TARC study ‘expired’!
I have completed my advance diploma in TARC and will be furthering my degree at Sheffield in June for 3 months. It’s really happy and exited after I done my study in TARC. I have a lot of time to do so many things. No more assignment. No more ‘devil’ inside my mind wandering around and stressing me to do assignment. I am free!

Chinese New Year!
This year is the only year I won in my gambling! What the &*$%”^£$! And I won around RM 200. Hahaha! Great year isn’t it?! Unfortunately, my Angpow money not as much as previous years. J The other bad (or good maybe?) thing is, I gone through this year CNY celebration without the other half of me. J Oh! That’s why la, my angpow money so less! Zzzz……

Perak Incredible & Thrilling Trip!
That was a trip we planned before our final exam. We just simply talk about it, without really planning it, because it’s really hard to gather all of us from different places to meet on one place at the same time (without transport, permission, bla bla bla). At the end, we made it without any difficulties. The only problem was Ah Beng and David couldn’t make it. haiz. Unlucky for them. That was a trip of 5 peoples! Me, Pharm, Quik, Seng and CK. Lets cut it short and simple. BECAUSE I NEED TO WORK TOMORROW! IT’S 1AM!

Ipoh! – This is Pharm’s hometown. That was my first time to Ipoh. We have a great feast at Perak. We tried the ‘nga choi kai’ on the first day. Very nice for me, because I prefer steamed chicken than roasted chicken. Really delicious! It’s perfect with the tauge and chicken feet served together. Caution : Don’t miss it when you go to ipoh. Err….even if u pass by or fly over. Then the following days, our mouth keeps watering seeking for the ‘yim kuk kai’ (salted steamed chicken?). wahlau! This one lagi cannot miss! The aroma banyak kuat. The daging dada also become daging paha. Syoknya! Haiz, cannot say too much….keyboard wet now…. =_=” then on the morning, after we watched a draw game between Arsenal and AC Milan, we took dim sum. Wah! This one very surprised me. We reach there around 6.10am. got many ahso ahpek anty anke eating there edi and getting more. As told by the Ipoh Pharm, Ipoh people usually sleeps before 12 and get up very early. Err….normal? abnormal? The dim sum was cheap and tasty. And the service was super good compare to Klang’s. There were a lot of workers waiting to serve us all the time. Attitude of Klang people is getting nearer to KL people. Haiz……so disappointed.

Bukit Merah Laketown (http://www.bukitmerahresort.com.my) – aiseh.
Sad. We went there on the second day which is Tuesday.
Pharm : Berapa untuk water park?
Staff : hari ini tutup la. Selasa, ada maintenance.
Pharm : =_=” mati pucuk.
Its an one hour journey from Ipoh!
Hahaha. Then we took the other alternatives which is to the dry park. The orang utan island by ferry. We get to know about our ‘ancestors’ there. (for ahbeng & ahlian : you can go there. You’ll be very happy to know that you are not the ugliest ‘human’ in the world). Then we went to the ecopark also. Just like a mini zoo…with some rare animals.

Gua Tempurung – (http://www.cuticuti.com.my/outdoor/caves/tempurung_rate.htm ) I conquered some of my phobia during this trilling trip. (Nyctohylophobia : fear of dark. Hypsiphobia – fear of height. Claustrophobia: Fear of Enclosed spaced.) First, we went in and watched many ‘stones’. Dunno wat name edi. What slalakit, stalakit…zzzz…UPSR fail? Then we climbed using concrete stairs and some metal. Wah! 400m above ground level! In an enclosed cave! Even the ‘Digi yellow guy’ also not dare to come in! One side of our hand is the wall of the cave, the other side is just a metal hand rail above of the deep deep cave. err…..i dropped my testi**ls there….then we go down again. Most of the passages do not have any lighting. Without torchlight = mati. Then we reached the stable ground….and….DOWN more! Through the water route. We soaked most of our body there. We need to crawl and jalan itik on the water. Because the height of the top of the cave and the ground is just 80cm and 0.5 of it filled with water…..i dropped my second sets of testi**ls there. Then there is the last passage with ‘natural-uneven-papan gelongsor’. Wahliu! Its 4m above the landing place. We have to get down by sliding and stepping slowly. I dropped my last set of testi**ls there. Finally! After 2++ hours inside the cave, we managed to get to the finsh line. Its too hard and long to explain here. I hope everyone can visit to gua tempurung and take the exhilarating experience.
the only pic we can get. we couldnt take any camera inside.

Teluk Intan – This is CK’s hometown. Our 2nd landing point. On the way to CK’s home, we bought the famous ‘roti ayam’. We bought 2 for RM 25 each (small 25, large 40+). One with curry flavor, one with herbs. So syok! The curry one so tasty. Its very important that the curry must be very delicious to ‘co-operate’ with the chicken and bread. We ended it by licking our fingers.

Pangkor! – (http://www.pangkor.com.my/) We went to Lumut first to get a ferry to Pangkor. Panglor is out of my expectations. It’s a fishing village! On the other side of the island is the holiday destination. Chalet and beach. No high hotels or apartments. The chalets really suit the environment of the island. Unfortunately, the water is not as clear and clean as I expected. Redang is better a lot……the most thing that most impressed me is the price. Rm80 chalet. Cheap dried seafood. Good service. Polite and helpful people. Very very very nice. Hope one day I can work there. J…a lot to talk bout panglor. But later my blog too long..zzz

Kuala Wor, Tapah - (
http://www.virtualmalaysia.com/destination/kuala%20woh%20recreational%20park.html) last destination! It was planned suddenly after Pangkor. Haha. Its a small shallow river flowing. The water is very cold and very clean. Redang also lose. On the little part of the bank, there are a small kolam air panas. That was the first time I saw the magnificent kolam air panas. Hot wap can be seen on top of the water. It’s really hot. Cannot soak inside. There are beautiful stones to collect too.

I couldnt write much here, i 'll post more pics soon. tired....sleepz......
